A village close to Venice in Italy was the place where Acca Kappa was established in 1869 by Hermann Krull, sr, a young Germand merchant from Prussia. He chose Treviso as his company's base. The land in and around Treviso was mainly used for agricultural purposes then, but has developed into a province with mainly industrial and business activities. The original focus of the company was the manufacturing of premium brushes and accessories from fine materials from the Orient. The quality of their brushes was well-known and Acca Kappa was made the official brush supplier to the British Royal Family.
