Airness is a French sportswear and footwear brand. It was founded by Malamine Koné in 1999 in Saint-Denis, suburb of Paris, France. Malamine Koné, a former boxer, was dedicated to the idea to create a high-quality brand of sportswear, not “street wear” that is usually associated with suburbs. He named the brand after his idol “His Airness” Michael Jordan, the famous basketball player. His boxer nickname was “The Panther” so he incorporated a panther’s image to the brand’s logo. Only six years after its foundation, the Airness brand settled permanently into the closed circle of suppliers for professional football.
