Bijan is a men's fashion house founded by Persian designer Bijan Pakzad. Bijan (known professionally by his first name) migrated to the United States in 1973 and in 1976, with partner Dar Mahboubi, he established a menswear boutique in Beverly Hills, on famed Rodeo Drive. The designer's reputation was built on his high-quality, luxurious fashions and the "by appointment only" exclusivity of his showroom. The boutique continues to be billed as "the most expensive store in the world." By 1983, a second boutique had been launched in New York.
