Chaumet is a french house of luxurious jewelry and watches founded by Marie-Etienne Nitot in 1780 in Paris . Josephine, the wife of Napoleon Bonaparte, was Marie-Etienne Nitot's first eminent costumer. That way Nitot became the officially appointed Emperor's jeweler in 1802 and designed the Napoleon Tiara and the Imperial Sword. His jewelry became the symbol of the Empire's power and grandeur. He also created jewelry for Marie-Louise's Imperial wedding. Nitot and his son were succeeded by master craftsmen Fossin, Morel and Chaumet.
