Kiton is an Italian clothing brand, founded in 1968 in Naples, Italy by Ciro Paone. The name “Kiton” comes out from the word “chitone” – the ceremonial tunic that ancients Greeks use to wear on the Olimpus. The brand’s focus is on classical and tailor made suits. In 1975, Kiton’s men’s suit becomes very popular first in France and then in Germany. In 1986, Kilton Corporation was founded, established in the Crown Building in New York City. The brand also becomes famous for their “seven folds” ties that came out in 1991. The first feminine line of clothing comes out in 1995.
