Kristiansand New York was conceived when two Norwegians, Britt Hovde Ross and actress Elisabeth Steen, met for the first time in New York City through mutual friends at the opening of an upscale store in Soho. Britt had always dreamed of making her own fragrance, even as a little girl. And with Elisabeth’s background in cosmetics and fragrance marketing, the two friends set out on a mission. They decided to create a men’s fragrance since there were so few on the market that they really liked.
