Wang originally trained as a figure skater and competed professionally, but when she didn't make the Olympics team, she left the sport and entered the fashion industry, becoming Vogue's youngest editor ever, at age 23. Wang left Vogue in 1985 and worked as a design director for Ralph Lauren before starting her own company two years later.
