Harry Houdini was a master mistifier and the most famous man in the world at the height of his stage act. With his wife Bess as his assistant, he performed for the Romanovs, may have been a spy for the CIA during the First World War, and led a crusade against fraudulent mediums and psychics who he believed were taking advantage of the trauma and grief caused by the war and the outbreak of influenza. His escapes from straight jackets, the Chinese Water Torture Cell, and a Siberian prison car never failed to amaze. The great magician could escape from anything - and some say his greatest escape is still to come. After a punch to the gut exacerbated an acute case of appendicitis, Houdini died on Halloween night in 1926. Seances are still held to this day. Will the Master of Mystery return?
