When Italy meets the Orient… Our story begins in the Mediterranean at the heart of the Fertile Crescent, we find a boy who had been friends with this girl since they were little—rolling down jasmine covered hills in laughter. They had both dreamed of exploring the world together hand-in-hand, but the girl had been already promised to the son of a land-owner in a neighboring town. The day of her wedding was the day that the boy would begin his new adventure. As they said their goodbyes, she handed him the brightest, most vibrantly aromatic lemon he had ever seen. She wanted him to know that every time she would walk among the lemon trees, she would search for the brightest, most fragrant lemon she could find and smile, knowing that it was him smiling back at her. As the boy traveled from the Mediterranean into Europe, he carried the lemon with him he would plant a seed in the most fertile ground in each region and shared his love story with the people of each town, thus fulfilling her wish of traveling the world together.
