Stephen Nilsen, a renowned perfumer, was born and raised in the United States. He developed a strong foundation in chemical engineering, earning a Bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1990. While at Georgia Tech, Nilsen participated in the Co-Op Work Study program and obtained a Certificate in French Language. He continued his education at Stanford University, pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from 1990 to 1995. His doctoral thesis focused on the structure and dynamics of ordered and disordered colloidal suspensions.
